It was once said, "Time has a doomsday book, on whose pages he is continually recording illustrious names. But as often as a new name is written there, an old one disappears. Only a few stands in illuminated characters never to be effaced".
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said this quote. In this quote, he is saying that there are heroes everywhere, but once one is said another is gone. However, a few are never forgotten. In my opinion, some heroes will be remembered forever. This is because there is no one who is a hero, and then no one will show the people the right way.
In history, there are thousands of people who will never be forgotten, one of them is Helen Keller. She was blind and deaf, but that did not stop her from being from learning how to communicate with others. Keller made hand signs to communicate with others, and by the age of seven, she and her friend made over sixty signs together. Along with having a companion, Keller had Anne Sullivan helping as well.
With Anne Sullivan and her family by her side, Helen Keller was able to go to college, and she was able to write her first book, The Story of My Life. This was about Keller's life from her early childhood to her life present day. By this time, Hellen Keller had been an expert in many communication types including Brail, speech, and typing. She truly showed everyone that anything is possible by anyone.
Other people how will not be forgotten are many scientists like Albert Einstein and Robert Hooke. Einstein was physicist, that came up with the famous equation relating energy and matter, which suggests that small particles of matter can be converted into big particles of matter. Along with that, Robert Hooke came up with cells when he was examining cork. With that in mind, other scientists build off that to make the scientific theory, which helped us understand that the basic unit of life is in us, and we use it every day.
In the end, heroes are needed in our life. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, "Time has a doomsday book, on whose pages he is continually recording illustrious names. But as often as a new name is written there, an old one disappears. Only a few stands in illuminated characters never to be effaced." In addition, when he asks is heroes will be forgotten one day, the answer is no because heroes are needed every day. People like Einstein and Hooke helped figure out science, and Helen Keller proved that anything is possible. With this, anyone can see that if there are heroes, there are ways to be successful. These heroes are only some of which gives people hope. This hope that is gained gives happiness to people.
