Trade Deadline Winners and Losers

The 2019-2020 NBA season continues to impress, and this trade deadline was nothing different.

Trade Deadline Winners and Losers

The Losers:

The 76ers: Look, you can win or lose trades, but that's just one battle. The 76ers made some acquisitions for cheap, however they lost the war. Going into this trade season they were the most pressed to do anything. Add shooters has become a motto in Philly and it seems that isn't going to change soon. This team looks like 2k MyLeague rebuild, a bunch of players with high overalls that don't win championships.

The Lakers: Another loser by proxy. The Lakers needed to add a playmaking point guard to soak up minutes or be on the floor instead of Rondo. Well they did anything but that. Derrick Rose would have been an amazing fit but it seems they couldn't get anything done because of the limited assets they have. This teams relies on year 17 Bron running on full steam. I'll let you decide of that's a good thing or not.

Golden State: Nah, these dudes legit lost a trade. Why do you want Wiggins.? WHY? I'm going to stop there I might blow a fuse if I keep talking about this.

Cavs: Drummond. Why? What is your plan? If anyone reading this is a cavs fan please organize a sell the team chant at your next game.

Eh:

The Heat: Okay they aren't REALLY losers, but... why did they get Iggy. Look this teams rise to contender status is a surprise that should make all of Miami happy. But that's it. This team's biggest strength comes from the fact that their core hasn't even attained its potential yet. The timeline to win a championship for the Heat is so much longer than it is for a team like LA or Milwaukee. Obviously Miami didn't really understand that because they got rid of a young piece that I'm really high on: Winslow. All for a 35 year old Iggy who probably isn't worth it. All things said, a lot of my critiques of this decision is super nit picky and to be honest getting rid of the 10 million dollar burden of Dion Waiters is a huge win.

Rockets: One question will sum this up: Does small ball work? If yes, we will look back on this move as historical. If no, we will laugh at James Harden's playoff misery once again.

The Winners:

KAT: His BFF is coming to hang out with him. I think this will improve his mental health. Maybe this will motivate him to start playing defense!!!
TWolves: DLo aside, they got rid of that terrible Wiggins contract AND added depth to their bench with guys picked late in the first round who didn't get that much playing time in Denver. Now it's up to the wolves to execute. Will they? (Please don't screw this up like you do everything else)

Hawks: Two things- 1: At-least you can't be worse 2: At-least Trae isn't mad?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
