People are all about natural and organic products nowadays and it is all for a good reason. Health products these days are over processed and filled with chemicals. Trust me, your body will love you so much more when you fill it with all natural products that come straight from the earth. Here are some great organic products that I use every day:

Coconut Oil

I swear coconut oil has superpowers.. it can do pretty much anything. You can use it as a hair mask, lotion, makeup remover, cooking oil, sunscreen, etc. It is an all natural oil that has healthy fats and it great for your skin and body. I use coconut oil every day, especially when I'm cooking. My favorite use for coconut oil is for making popcorn, it is healthy and is a great low-calorie snack.

Aloe Vera

You can find aloe at most grocery stores in the produce section. The aloe vera plant is found in tropical areas, the ones I find locally are usually imported from Mexico. You can cut open the leaf and extract the gel-like substance from the plant. Aloe Vera is typically used for after-sun care but it can be used for many other things like burns, cuts, face masks, etc. I tend to get acne once in a while so before I go to bed I cover my face in aloe and in the morning my skin is all cleared up.

Himalayan Salt

Himalayan salt lamps have been the latest craze in the world of natural products. I have a USB salt lamp that I keep in my room. It helps purify the air by reducing radiation in the air as well as neutralizing air molecules. This can help purify the air and promote healthy sleep and relaxation. Himalayan is also a great alternative to salt when it comes to cooking. It is all natural, tasty and a gorgeous pink color that can spice up any meal.

Lavender

If you have any form of anxiety, Lavender is a godsend. It is a great oil that can be used for basically anything. Lavender can do wonders when it is diffused into the air when you are having a stressful day. It is also great for a sleep aid if you are tossing and turning.

Peppermint

Peppermint is another essential oil that is well, essential. I am gluten-free so I typically avoid chewing gum and mints. Natural peppermint oil is a great breath freshener. If you combine coconut oil, baking powder and peppermint you can even make your own all-natural toothpaste!

In a world full of over processed products, it is a great to have a couple simple products for your body and skin that promote organic healthcare. You can buy almost all of these products at your local grocery store and they all work wonders. Enjoy!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
