There's No 'National Treasure' 3 Yet, And That's NOT OK

Do I have to go on a treasure hunt for it? Because I will.

While everyone is hanging around waiting for "Stars Wars" or another Marvel movie, I'm hanging around anxiously awaiting a "National Treasure 3". Yes, just over a decade later, and I'm still waiting.

For those of you out there that somehow don't know what "National Treasure" is, let me tell you. The two movies focus on a man named Benjamin Franklin Gates - hella cool name by the way - and his two friends Abigail Chase and Riley Poole.

In the first movie, they race to find the Templar Treasure before a group of mercenaries, whom they once worked with, find it; until they tried to blow up Ben and Riley. In the second movie, they follow a clue left in the diary of John Wilkes Booth, in order to prove the innocence of one of Ben's ancestor's in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Both movies just suck you in and get your brain running. To think that there could be clues hidden all around us is not only insane, also totally awesome. The movies really make me want to sit down and just read about history some more and learn new things.

If you really want to be drawn in, here is my favorite quote from each movie.

Movie 1:

Movie 2:

I mean, come on. He's so serious about it and it's so crazy and I freaking love it. It makes me want to try it though. I get a little overexcited after watching movies sometimes. After I watched the movie "21" I had a sudden desire to count cards. Now I want to steal the Declaration of Independence and kidnap the President really bad. It's a problem.

I have an even bigger problem though. There is no third movie! The second ends off with the President asking Gates if what he thought of page 47, the page he told him to read when he gave him the location of the President's Secret Book. Gates tells him that it was interesting and could be life-altering.

What were they talking about? I need to know!

The "National Treasure" movies are ones I could watch over and over again and not get tired of. I'll always be excited and surprised and just overall blown away by the whole idea of the movie.

For those of you who have not watched the movies, you need to. Though be prepared to be as mad as I am that there isn't another one yet.

For those of you who claim they don't like the movies:

I did a little research and it seems as though a script has been in the works over the years and the topic certainly comes up quite a bit, but unfortunately, nothing is set in stone yet.

All I know is, the minute they announce that it is happening, I'm going to scream. Literally.

Who else out there has watched these movies? What did you think of them? Are you upset there isn't a third one yet?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
