Mykonos Overview

If you're looking for a luxurious getaway with stunning views, Mykonos is the perfect place to go. This small island is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Greece and its vibrant nightlife will leave you wanting more.

Mykonos is known for its sun worshippers, so be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and sunglasses. But don't forget your swimsuits either – the crystal clear water on Mykonos is perfect for a lazy day at the beach.

Mykonos has a lot to offer if you're seeking something a little more daring. The island offers a variety of hiking and biking routes in addition to some quaint settlements that are worth seeing. And if going to clubs isn't your thing, you can always watch a Greek sunset from one of Mykonos' numerous beautiful beaches.

Things to Do on Mykonos

There are many things to do on Mykonos, depending on what interests you. From sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters of its many coves to exploring its winding lanes and ancient ruins, there's always something to do here.

If you're looking for luxury, head for the beaches of Plaka or Santorini. For a more relaxed experience, try some of the quieter coves such as Ayia Napa or Kalathia. And if you want to get out and explore the island, there are plenty of activities on offer - from hiking to horseback riding and windsurfing.

Whatever you choose to do, be sure to take advantage of the island's stunning scenery and enjoy some delicious local food - whether it's traditional tavernas serving fresh fish or salads or simply street vendors selling delicious flatbreads and sweet pastries. And don't forget your sunglasses - it can get quite intense out there!

Best Places to Stay on Mykonos

The best places to stay on Mykonos vary depending on what you are looking for. If you are looking for an all-inclusive resort, the best options are located on the east coast. If you are looking for a more intimate setting, or if you want to be able to walk to some of the more popular attractions, consider staying in one of the inland villages.

There are a few all-inclusive resorts on the east coast that provide first-rate service and breathtaking vistas. The Mykonos Palace and The Royal Club Mykonos, both of which have received five-star ratings on TripAdvisor, are a couple of our favorites. The Oktavia Beach Hotel also provides spectacular views of Paradise Beach, Mykonos' most well-known beach, and outstanding value for money.

If you are looking for something a little less luxurious, or if you want more privacy and access to smaller beaches, consider staying in one of the inland villages. These places tend to be a bit more affordable and offer far fewer facilities but they usually boast charming local communities and beautiful architecture. Our favorites include Agios Nikolaos and Kamariotissa Village. Both villages have small shops where you can buy fresh produce and seafood, as well as restaurants that serve traditional Greek dishes made with fresh ingredients.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin."
