I’m lazy when it comes to my outfits. I can spend hours crafting a perfect, glittery smokey eye, but then pair it with leggings and a sweatshirt. Here’s how I’ve learned how to own my lazy streak while still keeping a bit of class.

1. Basic Black Leggings

Every lady needs basic black leggings. They’re the most comfortable article of clothing that a lady can own, and they can make any booty look good! Pair them with anything, and you’ve got a go-to day to day outfit. My favorites are from American Eagle or from the Old Navy active line.

2. Plain T-shirts

You can’t go wrong with some plain t-shirts. I’ve had my time with graphic tees, and it was always a struggle to mix and match. Plus, everyone will know if you wear it twice in one week. No one will assume that with a basic black t-shirt. I snag the packs from asos.com or even men’s shirts, again in packs. Because I don’t have time to be selective about a plain t-shirt.

3. A Denim Jacket

Everyone needs a denim jacket. Everyone. They go with everything and there are a fit and style for everyone. I snagged myself an oversized style from American Eagle. Throw on some pins and pitches for some extra edge and personality.

4. Birkenstocks

I wasn’t a fan of sandals until I tried Birkenstocks. There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from, they go with everything and they all are insanely comfortable. Everyone and their mother have a pair, too, so you’ll be running with the cool kids.

5. Chacos

Staying on the topic of sandals, Chacos are amazing. They’re super cute and go with everything. There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from, so there’s a pair for everyone. The comfort is not to be forgotten, either. These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever put on my feet and everyone needs a pair.

6. Black Skinny Jeans

Jeans are the worst, but sometimes you need to look a bit more professional than leggings and a t-shirt. Don’t bother with anything fancy, just grab the necessities. Black skinny jeans should be in everyone’s arsenal. They’re easy to just throw on and can be dressed up or down. American Eagle always has the best, so begin your search there.

7. T-shirt Dresses

Just as versatile as a plain t-shirt, a t-shirt dress adds a bit of class while still maintaining comfort. They’re easy to throw on and pair with any shoes. I snagged mine at H&M and Forever 21, but most clothing brands have some version of a t-shirt or simple shift dress.

8. Shoes

They’re comfortable, go with everything, and give any outfit a chill vibe. There’s not much more than you can ask for. I always go for the classics, but there are plenty of styles and colors to choose from. Have fun with it!

9. A Trusty Flannel

Everyone needs a good flannel. Men’s flannels are the best but to each their own. I just personally like articles of clothing that make me feel like I’m in a very comfortable trash bag. Snag one in a color palette that you like and just toss it over any basic outfits. It’s super easy, comfortable, and no one will know that you’re wearing the same leggings and t-shirt that you did yesterday.

10. Doc Martens

Last but not least, Doc Martens. For any Michigander, this is a staple. They’re comfortable and keep your feet warm and dry during the winter. Plus, they’re super cute and versatile. With tons of styles and colors to choose from, there’s a pair for everyone.
