You did it! You have made it through another year, and now you get to indulge in the sweet kisses of summer. I hope you use this summer as a way to unwind both mentally, and physically because you deserve it. This is your time, so make the most of it.

You know as well as I do, that the next few months will go by ever so briskly if you do not take full advantage of them, and the next thing you know it'll be August and you'll be waiting in a line at your university bookstore about to drop some serious dollars on textbooks you'll most likely never open.

I've been a victim of too many monotonous summers, and I refuse to let this one take the same dull route. On that note, I've been compiling a small list of activities and general healthy outlooks on summer that I would love to share with you and to hopefully inspire you to have a kick-ass summer.

1. Normal sleeping schedule... SAY WHAT??!

This might not seem as exciting as tanning by the pool, or headbanging away at music festivals, but it is a necessity, and the first step to your electrifying summer. Get your clock in order, especially after finals when I am pretty sure you slept for a few hours throughout the day if any. Re-adjusting yourself to a normal human sleeping schedule, and not to that of a college student cracked up on coffee schedule, will make the most difference in the world.

2. Gotta get that vitamin D.

The sun is a giant ball of pure energy, and good vibes and lord knows do you need those after the end of the semester. Go get that tan, go lounge by the pool, and of course, don't forget that sunscreen. As Zoom Tan likes to put it, you want to end your summer being "Tan and Tasty" and not "Pale and Pasty".

3. Road trip, road trip, road trip.

Gather up your closest pals, human or animal, and hit the road. Summers are for exploring new places, trying new cuisines, and experiencing every beautiful bit of this world as you can. Don't overthink, if you have a place you want to go to, DO IT. You will never get to relive this summer. You will never get to be this young again. Yet, you will always look back and smile at the wonderful places you've seen, the people you've met, and the memories you've created.

4. Don't be afraid of life.

If there is one thing I can tell you, from personal experience, it is how I have missed out on countless wonderful experiences just because I was too scared, or too anxious to follow through with them. This summer, I challenge you to step over any fear or doubt you have, about ANYTHING. Take that trip, go on that date, try that food...basically, just go with the flow, and this summer will surely be one for the books.

5. Focus on YOU.

This is your summer, meaning you shouldn't give yourself the short end of the stick. After all, you only get one summer of 2K18, make it count. I personally am determined to make this summer, the greatest, most exuberant few months I've had in a long time, and I am so excited for you to do the same.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
