An Open Letter To My Person

To my person,

No matter what happens in this life, nothing could ever be that bad, because I have you by my side. Even the worst days of my life are filled with some happy moments because of you.

We've been best friends since the 6th grade and, although we've hit some rough patches of fights and not speaking to each other throughout the years, nothing could ever truly get in the way of our friendship. To say you're my best friend would be the understatement of the year, and yes, I've used that exact line as an Instagram caption in a picture of us before.

We have truly gone through life together throughout all these years. I remember your mom driving us to school on our first day of high school, and us being terrified and not wanting to go in. We took our first steps into high school as freshmen together, and we walked out as seniors on our last day of high school together. We started, and finished, our high school journey together.

You're the person I can see every day and never get sick of. We do everything together. We even work together. If I don't have a daily dose of you, my day actually feels incomplete. No matter how much life may confuse me, one thing I know for sure is that, no matter what, you're are the one who is always going to be there for me. You know that I'll do the same for you.

My best moments are the ones with you by my side.

I could never thank you enough for the impact you've had on me. Sometimes you're a shoulder to cry on, sometimes you lecture me like an mom. Sometimes you're my sister, sometimes my best friend. Sometimes the person who holds my hand when my world is falling apart. You've taken on every role I ever have needed you to, and with such ease. You deal with everything with me. You've been there for every medical crisis I've had, and every injury, and there's been so many of both. You pick me up when I'm down, you believe in me when I don't believe in me, you're strong when I am weak. You fight my fight sometimes, and you do it so effortlessly. I look up to you because you're such an amazing, smart, funny, beautiful person.

Writing this is a struggle, though, because I can't quite put into words how much you and our friendship means to me. People may read this and not understand the bond we share, but I know you'll read this and understand every word I say. Because you're my ride or die, my best friend, my twin, my mom and my other half, all wrapped into one. I'll never stop thanking god for the bond and friendship I share with you. So, to my person (aka Sera Darah Suki) thank you, for simply being you.

Love,

Your Person (aka KiKiandra)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
