Growing up, I was absolutely fascinated with makeup. I loved looking through my mom's makeup drawers and seeing all of her glamorous shades of lipsticks, blushes, and shadows. I loved putting on clear lip balm and pretending that it was a bright shade of red, a shade that would make me look beautiful and grown up. I couldn't wait until my mom told me that I could finally paint my face like she did every single day.

When I entered middle school my mom finally allowed me to start wearing makeup. I'll never forget the day she came home from Walgreens with an array of natural eyeshadows, blush, and a few brown mascaras. Given, all of these products were so light you couldn't really even tell that I was sporting a face full of makeup.

Either way, I felt absolutely fabulous and like the most beautiful girl in school. To say I was in love with these products would be an understatement. I can honestly say that those few products changed my life and my own perception of myself in a positive way.

It might sound absurd to say that I have a very strong relationship with cosmetics...but I do. My love for makeup has changed my life. Give me $1,000 and I'd much rather spend it at Sephora as opposed to buying a whole new wardrobe at Forever 21.

The feeling of being able to paint my face however I'd like is something that I find thrilling. I love having the ability to make myself feel more confident by simply adding a few products. It's a quick way to give myself a little pick me up, even if it's just applying a little bit of mascara, it can increase my confidence by a whole 10%.

I feel that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing makeup. It breaks my heart that some people are shamed for their love for these products and wearing them. If it makes someone feel beautiful then what is it to you to tell them otherwise? I'll always love buying and trying new products. I'll always love the feeling of looking at myself after completing a makeup look and being pleased with the result. I'll always love the confidence a swipe of lipstick can give me and encourage me to take on the day head first.

I will always love applying, blending, swiping, buffing, and brushing my face.

And if you have a problem with that, please keep it to yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
