Vacationing With My Family Changed Me For The Better
Aaliyah Pina

On August 7 until August 23, I went on a family vacation that was life changing. I've been coming to Florida for three years now, but it was my family's first time going. They loved it and finally saw what I fell in love with several years ago. My parents loved Florida so much that we actually went house hunting and checked out a few beautiful homes. We even bought a vacation home.

This vacation changed me because even though I'm already a hard worker, it motivated me to work even harder, that way that lakefront home with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms can be mine very soon. You have to enjoy life, and for me enjoying life means living in a tropical place full of palm trees. There's more to life than just paying bills and living paycheck to paycheck.

I met some of the nicest people while on this vacation. Everyone was welcoming to us, and strangers often approached us to give toys to my siblings, or just simply to say "hello." One important thing about this vacation is I was able to see family I haven't seen in almost 10 years. They kindly opened their homes to us when we were in town visiting them, and for that, I'm very thankful.

On this vacation, I got to network and build opportunities. I saw some companies I'm interested in working for post-graduation. My dad networked as well, and will start applying to jobs there soon.

I miss Florida more than words can explain. I know that I can definitely make my dreams a reality soon. Until I achieve my goal of owning that beautiful Floridian lakefront home with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, I'm going to be working harder than I've ever worked before. I'm so blessed to have gone on this life changing family vacation.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
