Setting goals can help you focus.

I am bursting with hope for 2018!

You never know what's going to be behind a door that won't open so in order for that door to open, you should do something about it. We are always evolving as human beings and personally, I've come a long way. It's another chance for me to take chances in order for me to change.

My first goal is to stop procrastinating and to do well in my classes.

I might have to remember to make a checklist and actually do work instead of thinking, "I'll finish it later." When I finish the day, I'll reward myself with treating myself out to lunch or go ice skating.

My second goal is to stop fearing the unknown.

I stress a lot about things I cannot control. My anxiety goes through the roof if I can't find a way to calm down. I might try to listen to more acoustic songs to help me unwind.

The third goal of mine is to keep my eyes focus on what's really important.

I want to find a part-time job or an internship this summer if I can but I can't do that if I'm always nervous and scared I might get rejected. I shall cut out images or save images on my phone and make a collage of what I want in life. That can help me become inspired.

The fourth goal of mine is to re-learn Chinese.

I want to be able to have an actual conversation with people. Listening to songs or watching Chinese cartoons can help and become even more enjoyable.

My fifth goal shall be to explore new restaurants, cities and to enhance my skills.

The skills could pertain to writing, ice skating, hiking and even trying to be stronger, so working out at the gym.

My last goal is to be happy and at peace.

Fear, resentment, and anger all cloud my judgments and my thought process so I choose my words in the moment. I shall try to not have my anger and fears get the best of me. I just want to be a better person and grow even more than the years before.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
