The internet describes The Rocky Horror Picture Show as a cult classic. It is a musical comedy horror film following a young engaged couple who find themselves going into a dark castle in the middle of nowhere after their car breaks down. They discover the house's resident, transvestite Dr Frank N. Furter and his recently created science project, a living man. Also, an ensemble of cast who can sing and dance.

Since it's release, has become a infamous midnight movie where audiences can go dressed as characters and watch actors reenact certain scenes. Radford Theatre offers the show this year for two different showings; October 20th and 28th. After being convinced by my mom, I decided to go see the showing on the 20th for my birthday. I wore the sash and everything. I also chose to wear pajamas as a personal choice. I wanted to relax, so what? Turns it it was actually the theme of the night. I totally got lucky!

So coming in I really didn't understand how the live show was going to work. I had heard stories of other experiences but when they handed me the "survival kit" I was totally lost on what to do with it. I looked at the assortment of rice, newspaper, etc. and I had no idea what was about to go down.

Thankfully, I had my friend, Anne, who had the experience of the show beforehand to guide me through the process. I knew when to bring out the proper items in the supplies at least, so I didn't look too much like a fool.

In the words of my mother, seeing the show was definitely " a college experience" There's a lot of sexual humor and comedy so if you're easily triggered I would not recommend seeing the show. It would've been better to go when I was a little older and able to be intoxicated like the individuals who eagerly jogged around the audience in their underwear at one point.

I didn't enjoy being pelted with rice and water and bits of toast at points. I mean they gave us a piece of toast and people had to be extra and tear it up so they could throw more. I mean, really?

If you're wearing a costume at least take off the hat if it's distracting. The people behind you would really appreciate it. Wear something you don't mind get wet or pelted with rice. I still have rice in my slippers and I had to pick them off the floor of my room by hand because the vacuum would not pick them up. Also, would recommend wearing good underwear if you want to jog around the audience. Don't wear see-through. More of a personal choice but no hate to body confidence if you're that comfortable.

It was definitely an experience! The girls I went with really enjoyed the show! I was entertained mainly by being around my friends, not really so much watching the show. Again, it probably would've been better under some sort of influence like everyone else.

I would recommend that everyone at least experience the show once in your life. It can be very uncomfortable at times if you're not open to different types of humor. Other shows could have different content of course! Go check out the local Rocky Horror shows near you!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
