There are so many authors out there that it's nearly impossible to read something from all of them. But why not try? I've been reading such a variety of books lately and have been finding authors that I really, truly love and love the works that they do. So here are some of my favorite authors that I would love everyone to take a look at:
Kathryn Miles
I've honestly only read one book by her, "Adventures With Ari," but the storytelling is incredibly gorgeous and so real. Her emotions as she struggles with a young puppy come through strong on the page. Whatever emotion Miles is writing about, you can truly feel it.
Rainbow Rowell
Now if you know anything about me, I cannot not pick up a Rainbow Rowell book. Ever. I have two of her books right now and have read two others (I really need to get all of them, two is NOT enough). The first book I read by her, "Fangirl," I could not put down. Just her general writing style kept the story flowing and kept you enthralled of what would come on the next page. Because I liked the first one so much, I began reading some of her other books and have been completely hooked. When's the next one coming Rowell? 'Cause I can't wait!
Maggie Stiefvater
Oh. My. God. I picked up "Shiver" quite some years ago and it instantly became my favorite book. I read all of the books in the series and was sorely disappointed when it was over. One of my friends did not read "Shiver," but read a different series by Stiefvater and was drawn in just as much as I was. The truth is, Maggie Stiefvater has a way with fantasy and paranormal books. Her words pull at your heart as well as your mind and it's impossible to put books of hers down. Don't read too fast through the books, the pages are packed full of details.
Anna Sewell
Okay, maybe this is more of a favorite book, but "Black Beauty" was pure gold. A point of view from a horse? Brilliant! And just the odd style of the writing makes this book that much better. It's been a little while since I read the book, but the story resides with you for a long time.
And finally,
Spencer Quinn
The author of "Dog On It." Another, Oh. My. God. The series that "Dog On It" leads is a series of mysteries that are told through the dog's eyes. The dog's. And my gosh, Quinn captures the mind of a dog so believably well, I was impressed within the first few chapters. It's a phenomenon that you have to read for yourself. You truly feel as though you are the dog.
Everyone has their favorite authors. Got any suggestions for me now?
