Many of us are finding it harder to squeeze in time to go grocery shopping along with all the others things we do in our daily lives. However, something may have come to our rescue when it comes to grocery shopping. Yes, folks. I am talking about Click List and online grocery shopping.
Now first off, I will say that this is a genius idea. Who wouldn't want to go to work and not worry about groceries? Now, once you're done with work, you are on your way to go pick up your grocery order. If someone came up with this idea years ago, I would have never stepped inside a grocery store my entire college career.
Click List is Fred Meyer's online grocery shopping. You can pick out your groceries from a list and pay in order to simply pull in and pick up your order. It's so cool!
However, there are a few things I didn't like about Click List.
First off, there is no place to input a credit card online. I know that it is a hassle to pay when you get the groceries, but they are trying to make payments be done online.
Secondly, there is a very small selection of items online. Like, I wanted to buy bubble bath but it wasn't in the inventory of items. I basically would have had to gone inside to buy it. However, a college student could survive on the essentials of items on Click List. I do hope they work into adding more items to the inventory, though.
Thirdly, they pack the bags with only two items per bag. OK, maybe three, but that means that you have to bring more bags into the house. They did pack 6 of the 12 yogurts in one bag. On a good note, they do recycle the bags when you bring them back for future purchases.
Fourthly, there is no place online to cancel an order. This makes it difficult for you to know if your order went through or not. I don't think my order went through until the next morning. Which brings me to my next point...
Lastly, it takes forever for your order to go through. There is no place on the account where you can see if your order is processing. I accidentally ordered twice and had to delete things from the two orders in order for me to get all my groceries.
So there you have it, folks, the one college student that finally figured out how to feed herself without having to set foot in a grocery store ever again – unless it was for something that wasn't listed on Click List, which really is 95% of the things I buy for my life.
Still, it was totally worth it. It helps you control your spending and maintain the budget while saving you a lot of time in the process. A lot of the problems go away when you get the hang of it.
