As a college student, it's extremely difficult to generate a night routine that not only works around your daily schedule but gives you time to meditate and reflect on your day. Having a consistent Monday through Friday night routine has made me felt organized and it helps me focus on the right things. Everyone's schedule allows for different things, but I would definitely encourage other college students to make time for themselves during the evenings. This can include tea time, reading, a face mask, meditation, yoga, and even some online shopping. College is stressful and our lives get pretty hectic, so it's important to make time for YOU.
3:00 pm | Done with Classes
I'm normally home from classes by this time. I'll grab a snack and catch up on my YouTube subscriptions. Yes, this is the time when I also procrastinate on assignments. Then again, I'm also very productive at this time.
5:00 pm | Homework
After long hours of procrastination, I get to work. This includes homework, blog posts, and radio assignments. I'm normally done in about two hours, depending on how much I have to get done. On Wednesdays, I work at the Radio Station from 5 to 8, which throws my routine of a little bit. I'll do my homework before 5 on Wednesdays.
7:00 pm | Time to Grub
Dinner time... I make my way down to the dining hall with some friends to get my belly full. Though dining hall food isn't the greatest, I can't let my dining meals go to waste.
8:30 pm | Shower
Showering is honestly the favorite part of my day because I can finally wash away all of the stress and dirt that accompanied my day. Shower time is when I reflect on my day and allow some time for meditation.
9:00 pm | Unwind
Tea Time... I'll grab a calming mug of Chamomile Tea (my favorite is Tranquil Dreams by Teavana) while I plan for the next day. I may also do a quick face mask (my favorite is the African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask by Shea Moisture)
10:00 pm | Finally, Time to Rest
Granted, this isn't the time I go to bed every single night. It depends on what I have left to do for the night. However, I do try my best to be in bed by 10 pm. After I call my parents to say goodnight and recite my nightly prayer, it's time for some much-needed sleep.
