If you’re in college, or going to be in college, I hope that my college guide from a to z can help you. If it doesn’t, well then, I don’t know what to tell you other than thank you for reading.
A- Academic Advisor
They will help you with your classes, and anything else you need within in reason. If they can't personally help you then they will help you find someone that can. They will meet with you at least once a semester.
B-Bachelor's Degree
Four long years later, and you got yourself a Bachelor's Degree. Sometimes, you will question if it's worth it, but trust me, it is worth it in the end.
C-Courses
These can get complicated especially when you're trying to make a schedule for the next semester. You may only have five or six classes, but they take up a lot of your time. The more credits the class is, the more work you will have to do for them. Don't skip class unless you have to because you're paying thousands of dollars to be there.
Take your classes serious because again, you're paying thousands of dollars to get a higher education. Plus, you don't want to have to take the class again. Yes, courses are going to suck sometimes, but other times, you will really like your class. And you might make a few friends along the way.
D- Dorms
An interesting place to live.
E- Education
You are paying thousands of dollars to be there. Go to class.
F-Food/FAFSA
Food is good. Food is important. So is FAFSA. Get it done sooner rather than later.
G- Grades
These will make you happy. These will make you cry. They will make you mad. Grades are weighted differently in college, and they could make or break your GPA.
H- Hold
You want this to get off your account as soon as possible so you can register for classes sooner because believe me, certain classes will fill up really fast. You might not even get a chance to get a certain class until next semester.
J- Jump Start
Some people do, but most people don't. (if you're a teacher reading this, everyone gets a jump start on things).
K- Kleenex
Bring these with you in your backpack or pockets because you'll never know when you'll need them. Your teacher won't have them nor will any of the classrooms have them.
L- Lectures
Do not take an 8 am. Or 9 am. Or 9:30 am. Your best bet is to start your days at 11 am. You'll thank me later.
M- Major/Minor
Put a lot of thought into what you want to study, and if you want to change your major/minor be smart about it. You might have to go to school longer after the change, but it might be worth it.
N- Netflix
Netflix will be your best friend. It will get you through the bad times, the good times, and all the times in between. Netflix will be there for you will you're stressed. It will be there for you when you want to procrastinate. Netflix is always there.
O- Official Transcript
These are very important and official.
P- Prerequisite course
They suck. This is a course that you have to take before another one. It's mandatory, and you have to get a C or higher before you can move up to the next class. Who knows? You might like these classes, and they might be for your major/minor, they may not.
Q: Quit
You will want to do this a lot, but remember, you are going to college for a reason. You got this. Just keep swimming.
R-Refunds
Money! Money! Money!
S-Schedule
You will take about five or six classes, and it will be a challenge to get your schedule how you want it. Sadly, you might not get the schedule you want nor take the classes you want, and you might have to wait another semester until you can take that certain class.
T-Tuition
It will be expensive. Thousands of dollars of it. Just to go to school.
U- Unofficial seating arrangement
Get to class early the first week or couple weeks. Pick your seat carefully because that seat will most likely be your seat for the rest of the semester. Don't take others peoples seats. It's rude. If you want a different seat, make sure no one else sits there before you take it. It messes everything up.
V-Voice
You have a voice, and you are important. Use it. Don't let anyone dime your shine.
W-Withdrawal
You will be able to withdrawal from classes or the entire semester.
X- X-Ray
Hope you won't need to get one of these. Be careful so you won't have to get one.
Y- Young
You're only young once. Remember that. Make your college experience great. That one day, you will look back at it when you're older, and hopefully, smile. Make your college experience great so you won't look back, and be filled with regret. But don't be stupid.
Z- Zombie
You will feel like this sometimes, and it's going to suck if I'm honest. But you will get through it.
