The Literal Tease Of My Chemical Romance.

I'm not okay, I promise.

Devastation is the only word that can describe what the entire former emo realm of the music scene feels.

July 20, 2016, the former emo/punk band, My Chemical Romance (MCR), posted a mysterious video to their social media pages. A video that was nothing but a flag depicting a calligraphic 'X' flying to an instrumental piano rendition of "Welcome to the Black Parade," one of MCR's most popular songs.

At the end of the less than a minute long video, the date 09/23/16 flashed upon the screen. This ignited the dormant fanbase, thus causing an explosion in the music industry. Fans, other bands/singers/song writers/musicians in general, record companies and especially the musical media were all wondering the same thing: what the hell is MCR planning and when can we learn more?

Everyone was expecting one (or both) of two things: 1) a reunion tour or 2) they're bringing the band back together and producing a new album on the depicted date. Positive vibes were the only thing felt from these posts and everyone was already breaking out the extreme eyeliner and getting ready to launch back to the emo days. Literally nobody expected the curve ball that MCR finally dropped the following day, July 22, 2016.

"We've been really touched and blown away by the response to the teaser trailer. We are not touring and there is no reunion planned - only a release for the anniversary of [the album] "The Black Parade." Thanks so much for continuing to keep MCR in your minds and in your hearts." - as said by My Chemical Romance via their official Facebook page.

Sorry folks, all we get is a re-release of "The Black Parade" for its 10-year anniversary. No tour. No reunion. Just a disappointment via none other than a teaser video.

It also didn't help that this is what's seen on their website:

But apparently this screen has been up even since the band's break-up in 2013, as stated by Rock Sound TV. But to anyone who hasn't been checking the site, it would seem like encouragement for a reunion tour.

We all honestly should not have gotten our hopes up since everyone who was formerly in the band are all doing their own separate things now, so truthfully, it wasn't too bright to jump the ball so quickly. But I can't help but feel disappointed; MCR was such a fantastic band who produced so many amazing songs that are still popular and relevant today.

No hate to the former band members what-so-ever, they did what they felt they needed to do. But still, come on guys, you could have given us a little 10th anniversary of "The Black Parade" tour for old time's sake.

But despite this minor fumble that broke social media, we'll carry on. Because, no matter what, even though the band MCR is gone, your memory will carry on.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

sisters

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
