I always wanted to brag on her in some way.

Open Letter To My Best Friend, Future Paramedic

Everyone at least has had or has one best friend in their life that is absolutely extraordinary. I thankfully still have mine and she is called FEMTP on my phone. Many of you probably wonder what that means. It is a nickname that I came up with one day amidst our all caps lock conversations which stands for "Future Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic."

My best friend works as an EMT and is one of the strongest women I have ever known in this lifetime. She works almost every day driving around the city of Springfield saving people's lives. She constantly busts her butt at her school work to earn nearly perfect grades, spends time supporting her little brother during football games, and still makes time to cause some sort of trouble with me. (I.e. we sit around and eat pizza, we're wild animals.)

She also is one of the people who protect me regardless of what the situation may entail. If a boy hurt my feelings, she is the first one there to tell me "I told you he was bad news" or she tells me "You were too beautiful for him anyway." Her heart is so full of love and joy that I am eternally grateful to know.

Also, she is the first person to come up with a sarcastic joke to me as we go back and forth. She usually wins because of her New York wit and humor. She never seems to miss a beat when you try to joke with her as well. Her jokes are the combination of a perfectly subtle insult (not meant to be malicious whatsoever) and sarcasm.

Kelsea my dear. I never get to say thank you to you enough for what you do for me. You keep me grounded, support me constantly, and remind me that I am an amazing person regardless of what life throws at me. You know I could ramble on and on about everything you do for me. So for the sake of what I tell you daily, I'll keep this short and sweet.

Thank you for your heart and soul, thank you for being my best friend.

With love,

Beezy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
