We were your typical sister rivals, but now we are the best of friends. Just like everyone said. Once sworn enemies to soulmates, sisters are for keeps.

You were a whiny, little mess. You always screamed and were a little brat. I was older, always responsible and diligent; your attitude did not take well.

We shared a bedroom, and that’s probably where all of our issues took root. I was organized, very OCD and you were quite the opposite. You would change and leave your clothes where they fell whereas I would always place them in the hamper. It only grew to be worse from there.

As the years passed, we would bicker and fight about everything. We couldn’t stand each other. I was a preppy girly-girl, and you couldn’t have been more of a Tom-boy.

People predicted that we would eventually get over this and become good friends. I knew that they were right –– I just would never admit that in front of you at the time.

We have our traditions and share clothes as if they were all our own: our Black Friday stay-out-all-night-and-shop-until-we-drop tradition, our go-halfsies on everyone’s Christmas present tradition and so many more.

I’m so thankful that I have you in my life, and if I could go back I wouldn’t change a thing because I know that’s what made us so strong today.

You’re my soulmate, and I always knew that it would happen one day. I’m so glad that day is here.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
