Every time I see a recipe video on my Facebook I am compelled to watch it regardless of whether or not it's something I would like to eat. I have found multiple recipes that I've bookmarked, printed off and put aside for dinner someday.
My fiance is big into anything spicy, he puts sriacha on pretty much everything and buffalo chicken is one of our go-to meals. Naturally when I ran across a video on Buffalo Chicken Pull-Apart Bread I shared it with him to see if it would be a meal he'd like to try for dinner some night. He shrugged, but I shared the video to my Facebook just in case. The next day he asked if I would make it for dinner. This article depicts my experience baking Buffalo Chicken Pull-Apart Bread for the first time.
I found this recipe on Tastemade. Here is a link to the original recipe for Buffalo Chicken Pull-Apart Bread as I'm making a few substitutions because I'm a picky eater.
Before I start to cook I like to have everything I need organized on the counter. This includes all my ingredients, mixing bowls, spoons, cookware and measuring cups.
Whenever I have a recipe that requires pre-cooked chicken I always go for an already cooked rotisserie chicken from the Hannaford in my town. It saves the 20-25 minutes of time it would take to cook the chicken before the actual recipe. It is not required, but I find it a lot easier.
Ingredients:
- 2 packages Pillsbury pizza dough
- 2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded or diced
- 1 cup Buffalo sauce
- 2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- Ranch dressing for dipping (optional)
Time To Cook!
Step One: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step Two: Roll out dough and cut into 3x3-inch squares (3 rows of 5). You should end up with 15 squares from of each roll.
Step Three: In a bowl, toss together shredded chicken, Buffalo sauce, and half the cheese.
First I put in 1 and 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.
Followed by one cup of buffalo sauce.
Then two cups of shredded chicken. I used the breasts of my rotisserie chicken.
Then I finished by mixing all the ingredients together.
Step Four: Begin layering. Brush butter on a rectangle, top with Buffalo chicken
mixture, followed by a sprinkling of cheese. Repeat with remaining
rectangles, stacking one of top of the other, chicken side up.
This was a lot harder than it should've been. I did not have a butter brush so I used a spoon. Please use a brush.
Step Five: Brush the inside of a loaf pan with melted butter. Load bread into loaf
pan, and brush with remaining butter.
I did this incredibly wrong. Like so wrong.
Step Six: Bake for 40–50 minutes.
PLEASE PUT YOUR GLASS LOAF PAN ON A COOKIE SHEET. THE BUTTER LEAKS ALL OVER YOUR OVEN AND SMELLS AWFUL.
Also. My oven shut off in the middle of this cooking. Which is the first time this had ever happened.
