Here are 5 music videos that will break your heart:
1. Lil Dicky ft Brendon Urie- Molly
The one that got away vibes are strong in this one.The verses tell the story of the rapper choosing his career over the love of his life. The second verse is when it really hits with "Who's gonna let me know to hit my mother on her birthday? Who's gonna let me know when I be shopping if a shirt's gay? & when I'm on the road I be missing that." Brendon's impressive vocal range makes the chorus even more feelsy.
2. Thomas Rhett- Marry Me
Same kind of vibe as Molly except here, we wonder at first if the song is being told from the perspective of the father, then if we're hearing a man's confession to his bride. Finally, we're brought to the heartbreaking conclusion that Sam (name given to the male character in the music video) is not getting his girl and that's not okay by me. Lyrics that get me, the chorus, every time. "I'll wear my black suit, black tie, hide out in the back. I'll do a strong shot of whiskey straight out the flask. I'll try to make it through without crying so nobody sees
Yeah, she wanna get married but she don't wanna marry me."
3. Eminem- Stan
I remember the first time I heard this song I was maybe five, and I didn't really grasp it until I was about 13. This one covers the weird relationship between fans and celebrities and ends in a pretty brutal way. I wouldn't advise this for the faint of heart. Lyrics, "But they didn't say who it was to. Come to think about it, his name was... it was you, damn."
4. Rascal Flatts- What Hurts The Most
5. P!nk- Perfect
This is honestly one of the hardest music videos for me to watch. This one covers depression, bullying and selfharm. P!nk tells a beautiful story about accepting who you are while trying to cope with the cruel world around you. "So complicated, look happy, you'll make it filled with so much hatred, such a tired game."
