As many know, James and I will be celebrating one year in less than two weeks. This isn't just an article about that, so don't leave just yet. Every anniversary we have had, I had found a few songs that described how I felt about him, and I would like to share my top five songs from the "Jazlyn Rust Love Song Playlist" with you now.
1. A Thousand Years
This was the first song I ever learned to play on the piano and rewrote for James. It is a cop-out as far as romantic songs go but it has lyrics that move you close to your significant other.
2. Hello
This was the first slow dance James and I shared at the Junior/Senior Formal. This is the total opposite of a standard love song but it is a song to listen with each other and belt out in the car.
3. Chances
This was the first song James dedicated to me. A sweet, underrated song that tells of new relationships. It's hard to tell if they will work out but some people are worth taking a chance for.
4. Cough Syrup
This was the first song that played at the first tournament James ever took me to for bowling. This isn't a love song at all and I know what you are thinking, "How did it end up on your love song playlist?" Well, it's a song about finding your happiness in something and sometimes that person you love is the happiness you feel.
5. Make You Feel My Love
This was the first song I ever sang to James when I told him I loved him. A simple song that has been done and redone but still can never be done better than Adele herself. A song that is all in the title, "I want to make you feel my love."
Where words fail, music survives. Sometimes its so much easier to play a song than to stand and look someone in the yes and say your feelings. So from all of us nervous nelly's out there, we thank you music for making our lives a little easier.
