Listening To Music Is GOOD For You

Many of us love listening to music as it is. It's enjoyable. I mean who doesn't love listening to a great song in the shower or hitting shuffle on your favorite playlist in the car?

Well, there are also lots of benefits of listening to music. So here are some reasons why music is actually beneficial to our health and everyday life.

It can help you out of a depressive state

There are several studies that show that music is great for people in a depressive state. When you listen to music you enjoy and appreciate, your body releases dopamine, which actually makes you feel happier.

If you're in a deeper depressive state, there's is even a thing called Music Therapy, in which you can listen to music that was made exactly to help people with mental health issues feel more relaxed and at ease. 74

Acquiring a music taste can help make friends

A lot of time music is really helpful in social settings. A lot of people make friends with other people based off what kind of music you listen to. It's easy to relate to people with similar music tastes.

Not only that but meeting people who like the same kind of music as you, can help you discover more music you might be into. 64

Music can help you focus

One thing music is great for, is concentrating. Whenever you have a big final to study for, try looking up music that is made to help you focus. It does wonders.

Music is known to help your attention span and keep you focus on a certain task rather than getting distracted by the things around you. 56

It can you improve you sleep

Music not only affects you when you're awake but also when you're asleep.

Sleep is an essential part of life, and music can help it! Studies show that listening to certain types of music can not only help you fall asleep faster when you're ready to go to sleep but can also improve the quality of your sleep. 58

Music is already such a wonderful thing, but knowing it has benefits makes it even better.

So next time you need help with your mental state, social life, focus, or sleep, try putting in some headphones and putting on some good music, you'll really be surprised what wonders it really can do for your everyday life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
