When I was preparing to move into Villanova for the first time, I was very nervous. I was concerned about making new friends and fitting into my new home away from home. When my parents finally left me here and returned home, I felt alone and sick to my stomach.

It took at least a month for me to settle and find a solid group of close friends. Moving in and adjusting was a time of nervousness and apprehension. There were times I hated being here and wanted nothing more than to go home. But with due time, I came to love my new school, which leads me to just how different my return here was after winter break

Returning for my second semester couldn't have been more different. Excitement replaced apprehension and I was looking forward to returning to the place that had truly become a home away from home. I couldn't wait to see all the friends I had missed and get back involved with the Villanova community. This time, I came to a familiar place, filled with friendly faces and rich opportunity. This change in perspective revealed to me just how much I had adapted to my new life.

Despite how scary moving away from home can be, you will adapt to your new circumstances in time and come to love your new home.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
