My Experience Moving Back To College After Being Gone for Two Months

On February 10th I finally moved back into my dorm room at the University of Delaware after being on winter break for two whole months. I went on break December 10th. Crazy right? Well I am so glad that I am back, and I am ready to take on this semester.

Every time I saw a friend and asked them how their break went they would say, "Too long." That is the epitome of what UD's winter break is if you did not come to the winter semester. I would do the winter semester, but I don't feel like paying more money than I already am to attend this place. Anyways, moving back in was really stressful at first, but once my room was set up I felt like I never left.

I arrived around 11:30, but check in wasn't until 12, so I hauled up all my stuff four flights of stairs (just so you know it sucks) and had some help from one of my friends that moved in earlier that week. After doing that, I finally checked in and got all my stuff unpacked. It felt so nice having everything in its place... except I forgot one thing at home: my power cable for my tv.

SO.

I went to Best Buy with my friend, got the cable, and then we treated ourselves to some Wawa hoagies which are FREAKING amazing. Never sleep on Wawa hoagies because those things are so satisfying. I came back and had everything done. My stuff was all in its place, neatly organized, and I could finally relax.

I helped some of my friends move in that afternoon, met some new kids, and a lot of us just sat in my dorm room catching up about the past two months. Played some 2k19 and Fifa with some of the guys, and it honestly just felt so nice. I struggle with anxiety so the whole day I was just worried about getting everything done, so it was really nice having all these familiar faces around to distract me.

We went to the dining hall for dinner, sat in our usual spot, and started talking about our classes that we are taking which we were not thrilled about. None of us wanted to go to class the next day and get back to work, but it was what it was. My friend Connor and I stood in line for at least over 30 minutes waiting to get our books, and it sucked. I had issues with my order, and I had to go back two more times after that. Again, college is just one big scam into getting your money I swear.

Anyways, we came back to my dorm and started relaxing. As time went on more people came into the room, we ate snacks, played video games, and to end the night we turned off the lights and all watched an episode of the Office. It was really a great way to ease our minds into the new semester, and you could tell that everyone felt that way.

Overall, my second move in day was a success. I went to bed at a reasonable time, and it paid off because my 9 AM class got cancelled due to the snow so I could sleep in more! What a great way to start off the new semester. I still made myself productive though and got more books, went to two more classes, and did some errands for the dorm.

I have a feeling that this semester will be amazing, and I'm very excited to see what it holds in store my friends and me. Wishing everyone a great semester, and hope you all have an awesome week. See you next week!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
