A great way to embrace the beautiful season of autumn is to get warm and cozy while watching some amazing fall themed movies! My top 10 list of movies just scream "fall" and will leave you feeling warm on the inside even though it may be cold outside. Just to let you know, Meg Ryan is going to be the star of this listicle.
10. Sleepless In Seattle
So this movie doesn't actually take place during autumn, but something just compels me to watch it every year during the fall season.
9. Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
The scenery in this movie will definitely get any muggle excited about fall! The pumpkins in this film are just absolutely perfect to me.
8. Dan in Real Life
This movie has everything about fall. It has family and food, and it takes place during autumn!
7. Dead Poets Society
This movie may make you a little sad; especially since the late Robin Williams is in it, but it's a great, classic movie of his to watch. Since this movie starts out in the beginning of the school year, it not only gets me ready for the fall season, but it also gets me ready for what the season brings: a new school year.
6. Stepmom
The leaves matching the color of Susan Sarandon's hair in this film is just perfect! If this movie doesn't make you think of fall than I don't know what will.
5. Far From Heaven
This is an amazing and intense film that touches on race, class, sexuality, and more. Trees with beautiful red, orange, and gold leaves are featured throughout the film. It definitely displays fall in the suburbs.
4. Bewitched
I always look forward to watching this movie each fall! It may not seem like a "fall movie", but during one scene (not to be a spoiler) Jack, played by Will Ferrell, accidentally scares off a bunch of trick-or-treaters. Trick-or-treating means Halloween, and Halloween means fall!
3. Autumn in New York
Do I even have to explain why this is a great film to watch during the fall, cause I think the title speaks for itself?
2. When Harry Met Sally
This is a wonderful rom-com to watch snuggled up with your significant other, with your best bud, or solo! The scene where Sally and Harry are walking through the park with the autumn leaves falling in the background is just so beautiful and relaxing to watch.
1. You've Got Mail
"You've Got Mail" is a fall movie that you will fall in love with! So, the entire movie doesn't just take place during the fall, but the decorations in the bookstore and Meg Ryan's turtleneck sweaters are all I need to classify it as a fall film.
