Getting Motivated!

How to get out of that funk you're in!

Why does being unmotivated come at the wrong times? I mean, why can't it come during summer when I have absolutely nothing to do at all? Not when I am tackling my last semester of college and actually need to pass my classes. How does one even get out of the funk of being unmotivated? I guess it's kind of like writer's block? However you get out of that - is how you would get out of this... right? Well here's a few ways to get out of a slump, if you are in one and need some advice like I did!

1. Inspiration.

Find something that makes you inspired. If painting makes the stress a little less and time seem endless, then paint your life away [well, you gotta do homework, but you know what I mean]. Make sure you take some time to do what you love to do before anything else, time is on your side, make some for yourself. Go running if that lets off steam and gets you inspired, go to Starbucks for an hour if that helps. Do things that inspire you to do awesome at life and anything you are feeling unmotivated about.

2. Goals.

Set a goal. Set goals. Set a lot of goals if you want to. Make sure the goals are reachable, there's a number about this [#4]. Make sure you can make the goals you put - if you can't, then what is the point of a goal? Be able to obtain the goal, don't make it so difficult that even you can't do it.

3. Write the goals.

Don't forget to write the goals you make. That is important, not only to make the goals - but to write them down as well.

4. Use post-it notes.

Don't forget to use post-it notes. If you don't want to write them down, use post-it notes and put them on everything. Always make sure they are in a place you look often, such as a laptop or a planner.

5. Think positively &

6. Think about benefits and how it will be "greater later."

Think about how it will benefit you in the long run, how it will benefit what you are doing it for. Always important. Think about things in a positive manner, not in an "I am doing this for nothing" manner. It is important to know that everything is done for a reason and if you don't think so, then why are you doing it?

7. Routine.

Make things a routine. Make these goals a routine and make the positivity a routine. Make sure that you know why you are doing it and that you are doing it for the greater good. Everything should be for the greater good. For yourself, for someone else, for your pet, for anyone and anything. The greater good is important.

Those are some things that can help you be a little more motivated in life.

If not right now, then hopefully in the future!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
