How To Make The Most Out Of Your Vacation In 48 Hours Or Less

I Just recently took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. It was a unruly 11 hours there which left us with only 36 hours to really be able to take in all that Nashville had to offer. I quickly realized there was a list of sites I wanted to see and things I wanted to do but I was limited with the amount of time I had in the city. Here are a list of tips to be able to get the best out of your weekend "vacay" and fit as much as possible in to a small time frame.

Plan.

You're going to have to figure out where you want to go ahead of time in order to make this work or else you're going to wasting precious time. Figure out where you want to go and what is most important to you to experience in the place you are trying to explore.

Take advantage of the entire day.

This isn't the time to be sleeping in and lallygagging around your hotel room. Wake up early and get a head start. More than likely the rest of the city you're visiting will still be sleeping and/or still drunk from the night before so you'll have the town to yourself.

Coffee needs to be your BFF.

Drink up people, the more energy you have the more enjoyable your day is going to be (I'm speaking from experience here). If you're awake from 8 a.m until the wee hours of the next morning you're going to need all the help you can get energy wise. Enjoy your day filled with energy, not feeling like you want to go back to your hotel room and take a snooze.

Ask the locals.

The locals will tell you what's worth seeing. They know the best spots and what attractions are really worth going to. So, when you go out to eat, ask your waiter/waitress their favorite places to eat and what touristy things are worth the over priced ticket to see.

Enjoy it and yourself.

Even though you may be upset that your vacation time has been cut short, enjoy yourself. Have a good time and enjoy the company. If you have a good time, you'll feel like you got the best out of your vacay, no matter how short it is.

I learned a lot this past weekend due to a series of unfortunate bus events on how to make the most out of 36 hours in an unknown city. But if you make the best of it, you'll have the time of your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
