New year, New me? Yeah, let's be real — probably not.
We all make these New Year's resolutions on December 31 that we really believe are going to happen, then January 2 comes around and we say we will start next week, or month, which becomes next year very quickly.
Here are the most popular, yet probably least achieved goals for the new year:
1. New year, new body!
Everyone likes to say they are going on a diet and eating greens and no more chocolate in the new year, but that leftover cake and cookies from your neighborhood New Year's party haunts you so much and just looks so much more fun than the gym, right?
2. New Year, no social media!
Shouldn't we all just go on a little social media cleanse for a change? Social media is the reason for drama, jealousy, and so much more negativity, but we're all addicted to it... including me.
3. Do what you love.
This resolution is one we should always strive for, but most can't find the time or the opportunity to achieve it. Making time for doing what you love is important, but most don't prioritize it.
4. Quit those nasty bad habits.
Whether it's smoking, drinking, or small things like biting your fingernails... we all have them. But breaking them is easier said than done.
5. Get enough sleep.
This may not seem like it needs to be an actual goal, but for a lot of people, it can be challenging. Whether you're a college student trying to find time to sleep with all of the other things going on or just someone who doesn't think sleep is important, it can be hard.
These goals may seem easy for some, but for others they may seem impossible.
Is 2018 the year these cliches turn into a reality? We'll see.
