12 Thoughts On A Monday

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The exciting weekend has come and gone and there you are...lying in your soft, warm bed with the hell-sent alarm clock blaring. You sit there thinking about all the possible excuses you could use to call off work and have just another day of freedom. But, lucky for you, you are out of vacation days and have no choice but to suck it up and get to the office. Awesome! Time to get ready work! All your worries and stress have finally returned, and you know you missed it all! Let's be honest with each other, Monday's suck and we all know it. We go through this struggle every seven days, and unfortunately it never gets easier! Here are 12 thoughts that probably go through your head each and every Monday:

1. Where are all of my clean clothes?

Oh nifty! Right next to all of the dirty dishes and messy table! I knew my procrastination would pay off!

2. Why does work start so early?

Up by 4 a.m after four soccer games and family get together yesterday? No problem, I would love to boss! If you need me to stay late or work from home later and lose more sleep it would be no big deal.

3. I swear I just filled up my tank...

I only went to the zoo, the grocery, and to the state line. I can't be out of gas already!

There goes $30!

Should've gotten the electric car...

4. Wait, didn't I get this done on Friday?

Nope, you sure didn't pal! I thought you learned your lesson last week, but guess not! Hope you like staying late and skipping lunch!

5. Was I supposed to start that diet today?

Ooo! There is a carry-in today! I wonder if there is cake?

Crap, I guess I'll have to start it next Monday!

6. "Extra shot of espresso please!"

Make it a large! Bless you barista...bless you.

7. OMG! The Bachelorette is on tonight.

Is she really giving him the rose? OOOH girl she is slaying!!!

*sobs slowly*

8. What should I have for dinner?

Wait, are you saying I have to make dinner too? I just did that yesterday?

9. Do I get paid this week?

After a phone, electricity, and water bill, I have 10 cents. Let me sell my television and books to afford some Ramen.

10. Is it too late to buy a lottery ticket?

Must....play....responsibly...but my odds are so good! I am the one in 22 million!

11. Can I quit my job?

It's not too late to become a stripper, right?

12. And its only Monday...

All you can do is pray...

Monday's suck, but you don't! Give yourself a quick pep talk and do your best. Try to enjoy the rest of your week because we all know what happens again in just seven short days...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
