Whether you love it or hate it you have to admit that "The Bachelor" has become an integral part of American culture. Now, “The Bachelor" has spawned "The Bachelorette," "Bachelor in Paradise," and the former "Bachelor Pad" with a new show coming along with the Olympics, and if you’re anything like me, Monday nights are spent watching these shows, or during the offseason gathering any information you can about the upcoming season. And tonight, after months of waiting we get the new season!
Monday nights are for gathering all of your best friends and sitting in front of the TV to watch the show. With buckets of popcorn on hand and someone’s phone out to live tweet the entire show while filling out your fantasy bracket for who you think will walk away with the final rose.
Monday nights are for getting way too into all of the drama going on in Bachelor mansion. You get personally offended when the designated “villain” attacks your favorite and spend at least three weeks just waiting for that one person you just do not like to finally be sent home.
Monday nights are for following and stalking your favorite contestants on Twitter. You keep up with their lives long after they’ve left the show and even though you’re happy that they have a nice life you still think they would have been much better off getting the final rose.
Monday nights are for screaming at the TV and the bachelor(ette) with everyone else in the room since you and your friends are obviously very qualified and should be there (along with Chris Harrison) to help guide the decisions.
Monday nights are for crying when your favorite contestant gets sent home. They were perfect together and it was so unexpected. Honestly you cry more at ‘Bachelor’ than you do for your own breakups.
Monday nights are for immediately calling anyone who could not be at the watching party the second the show is over. Distance does not matter you need to tell anyone who will listen (and care) exactly what wrong decisions you think that the bachelor or bachelorette made. You also need to gush over any super romantic moments or dates that you have no hope to go on.
Monday nights are for making fun of the show, and some of the contestants on it, but also secretly wishing you could compete on the show one day to go on the dates and hopefully become a part of ‘The Bachelor’ family.
