A friend is someone you like to be with and whose company you enjoy. My mom has many friends, but a few stand out in my mind. It may be because I just saw them, or maybe it is because there are little things in my room that remind me of them. However, I have recently been wanting to thank them.
I would like to thank them for staying with my mom and continuing to support her through the move. There is not a doubt in my mind that they will be friends forever. Whenever they are around one another there is always a smile on their faces, and you can tell how much their company means to one another. You will always see them laughing whether it is on or off the golf course.
Flamingos symbolize beauty, grace, and confidence. This is the animal that they chose to represent their group. Although it is strange to have a mascot for a friend group, I think they chose the perfect animal. Each woman in this group is beautiful in her own way. They are obviously beautiful on the outside, but their personalities are some of the best. They see the good in people and are not afraid to be who they are. This group may not be the most graceful bunch, but they do have grace. There is a certain charm that each of them holds. They each have the best hearts and are so caring for everyone they meet. When you see them walking around it is very apparent how confident they are. They hold their heads up high and when they walk somewhere their huge smiles and confident personas enhance the room. The flamingo is the perfect animal for them. For my graduation, I was gifted a flamingo blanket so the Mona's, their group name, would be with me throughout college. Every time I need a reminder of who I can go to in times of trouble or just when I need a laugh, I look at my bed and am instantly reminded by the flamingos.
They are my friend group role models for when I get older. I want to surround myself with people who constantly make me laugh and remind me that life isn’t all serious. However, they have all worked so hard to be where they are now, and they inspire me every day.
They take me in and treat me as if I am one of their own daughters. They supported me and had my back through everything that came my way. I could always count on them to cheer me up and on. When I see them or think about them, I believe they are my second moms. They voluntarily came to my swim meets, softball games, and graduation. They watched me as I grew, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I hope from this they can see how much they mean to me and the amount they impacted my life and the person I am. They continuously remind me that they are here for me and I can always call them for anything I need.
