To my mom,
I know I'm all grown up now,
And it's something I never really say,
But I'm writing you this letter,
To show my love for every day.
Thank you for loving me,
No matter what I do,
And thank you for holding me as I cry,
No matter what I have been through.
Thank you Mom for all you do,
To keep me away from harm,
Like when I walk near the road,
Though I'm 20, you still grab my arm.
Thank you for teaching me,
That it's not bad to be exactly like you,
And showing me how to try to be perfect,
Like the mother I always knew.
Thank you for the days,
You helped me celebrate with joy,
And for holding me during the moments,
I cried over the wrong boy.
You showed me how to love,
You showed me how to care,
And when those you love the most, struggle,
You taught me to always be there.
I know I never say it,
But it's very plain to see,
I don't deserve your love one bit,
No, not a single ounce for me.
Thank you for your heart,
And your loving helpful hand,
Your mind is like a light shining bright,
Brighter than any across the land.
So, thank you for all this,
I'll try to say it more,
But when it comes to the best moms,
You've got the highest score.
You're worth so much more than this,
And I could never say enough,
But when you're feeling down,
Maybe this will make you feel tough.
That is all I have for now,
Although I should say so much more,
Because when I say "I love you mom,"
It is only you that is for.
I love you Mom!
