Dear Mom,
I can't possibly give you everything that you deserve on Mother's Day, so here's this:
Thank you. Thank you for being the mom that you are. From working to catering to our family, and even putting us in our place when we need it...you do it all. For that, I will always admire you. I know I don't express it nearly as much as I should, but I appreciate all that you do more than you know. I'm amazed at how much you juggle and give up to be the mom that you are.
Thank you for being not only a mom but a best friend and a support system. You know just the right balance of being a friend and parenting; and yes, that includes even when I'm complaining about the parenting side. You're the first person I can't wait to tell whenever something new happens, and now that I've been in college I value our gossip sessions and outings as simple as going out to lunch even more. You're also the base of my support system; without your love and support, I wouldn't be where I am today. You've taught me to be fearless and determined (with just the perfect dash of sass) and without that, I wouldn't have the confidence to continue what I'm doing.
I know it will be hard because you will have the urge to start cleaning something or want to run some errands...but just relax for a day. Enjoy your day and reflect on everything you do for us. I can only hope that if I ever become a mom, that I manage it all as well as you do. I couldn't have asked for a better way to be raised...I wouldn't know what to do if I had to deal with myself sometimes. Since we as kids don't necessarily allow it often...we will stay out of your hair!
Happy Mother's Day!
Love, Erica
