Mom, All That I Am, Is Thanks to You

Mom,

You are our lifesaver. Our finder of missing things, our costume designer, our therapist, our coach, our problem solver of absolutely everything, and so much more. It is crazy to think that so much talent, grace, and beauty lies within one human.

There isn’t even just one adjective to sum up how incredible of a mom you are. You are unselfish, confident, unapologetically yourself, intelligent, brave, humble, and so much more. A classic role model.

Your love is unconditional and you make sacrifices every day for our family. Our family would literally fall apart without you. I cannot tell you how many times you have constantly reminded us all of important deadlines, or made sure we were where we were supposed to be and had what we needed at the right time.

I am everything I am because of you. You have shown me that all I need to be in the world is myself. You have taught me how to be kind and how to be humble. You have shown me more than once the importance of accepting and loving myself.

Thank you for all of those days you told me what was good for me, even when I didn’t want to hear it. You were right… about basically everything. Thank you for the days that I snapped at you, and you continued to love and tolerate me no matter how much of a brat I was/still am. For trying to heal all my wounds all these years, physically and emotionally. You’re the real super hero, and you deserve to be recognized everyday not just once a year.

You have been my number one supporter. Always encouraging me to set goals and achieve them, and always being there to pick me back up when I fall down or make a mistake. I mean what mom spends a whole day sitting through hours upon hours of dance rehearsals and dance recitals for 12 years, only the realest.

Thanks for making sure I was as prepared as I could be for the real world. Making sure I understood the importance of hard work and the value of the dollar is one of the best lessons you could’ve ever taught me. Additionally, for making sure I rarely, if ever, went without, the sacrifices you’ve made for me and our family are limitless.

I am so grateful God blessed me with a mom like you. He sure knew what He was doing. So here’s to you mom. I owe everything I am and have accomplished to you (and maybe a little to dad). I hope one day I can be as strong, fearless, and as lovely as you.

Happy Mother’s Day Mom

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
