It's the most wonderful time of the year-- and no, I'm not talking about Christmas. Hockey season has begun, and fans everywhere are rejoicing. If you are not a hockey fan (which, by the way, you should be), here are some things you will probably notice this October through June:
Hockey creates a bond like no other.
The players love the game...
... Almost as much as the fans do.
Everyone loves a fair fight...
Especially if you're the winner.
Nothing is wrong with a good rivalry.
Most people are convinced they can coach their team from in front of their TV.
Fans will do anything for a leg up on their opponent.
There's no such thing as over-reacting to a goal, whether you're a player...
... Or a fan.
For everyone except a Blackhawks fan, Chelsea Dagger makes them want to cry/scream/beat their head against a wall.
The atmosphere tends to get a little intense.
Fair warning: it may bring out the worst in them.
But in the end, no matter how the season goes or what team they are rooting for, true hockey fans are all in this for the long haul.
