Calling all baby boomers!

It's no surprise that millennials get a bad rap. We've heard enough remarks about how "horrible" we are, and we're sick of it. If anything, being a millennial is difficult due to the world that has been shaped by those before us. So, before you go bashing the people of my generation, take a long, hard look in a mirror. Here's a list of of comments millennials are just tired of hearing, so if you baby boomers could shut your traps for five minutes to read this, that would be fantastic.

1. "Millennials are so lazy!"

Yes, yes, we hear this one practically on a daily basis. Get some new material, Carl. Apparently, we don't know the meaning of hard work and sit on our butts all day long, our eyes glued to our precious smartphones. Nah... I don't think so. Most of us have part-time jobs...with crappy pay. Whose fault is that? Hmm...

2. "You are so entitled!"

No, we are not entitled. Back then, it was much easier to get what you needed: a well-paying job, affordable education, and lower prices on pretty much everything. Millennials, on the other hand, are just trying to survive in this country that the older generations basically ruined. How come you had it so easy? Thrill me, Dorothy.

3. "In my day, we had to walk fifteen miles to school! In the snow! With no shoes!"

OK, the above comment is an exaggeration, but you get my gist. Is it my generation's fault you had to walk to school, Mary? Is it our fault you didn't have air conditioning? Or running water? Or smartphones? Nope. We were test subjects. You were just late to the party.

4. "You all are so sensitive!"

So... it's bad that we express our disgust and concern when it comes to the crappy state of this country? Is it ever so terrible that we want to change this world for the better? Oh, it is? OK, fine, Neil. Let's just remain the jacked up country we really are.

5. "You are always glued to your phones!"

Yep. Guilty as charged. I'm sure we all have our grandparents to thank for this "lecture." I'd honestly rather be texting my friends and/or playing Candy Crush than listening to your rants about the ancient times, Carol.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
