The incredibles fans of the past need to stop attacking the one's of the present

Let's just talk about some of these ridiculous claims made by some older fans of the Incredibles franchise and how they are treating some of Pixar's newest fans.

In 2004, a Pixar animated film debuted for millions to see on big screens everywhere. This storyline consisted of a family of superheroes juggling living as mundane members of society and longing to return back to their life of excitement due to their heroic superpowers. However, they are forced to remain silent about their powers due the governments' decision to make superheroes illegal. This film hoped to depict a typical family juggling with some atypical drama and longed to help kids everywhere aspire to be their own kind of superhero after viewing this film. After the fourteen year wait, the highly anticipated sequel hit theaters just this past week and those young children dreaming of becoming a superhero are all grown up and making some remarks that even Disney wouldn't want to endorse.

Many films from a millennial childhood have not caused a fourteen year wait for its' original audience to view its' sequel. Films became franchises with sequels like Monsters University and Finding Dory causing not only an increased youth audience but a millennial demographic as well. This not only increased ticket sales in the box office but generated more excitement about the films premieres. The path to the sequel for this widely loved superhero film was long, windy and most people refused to believe there would ever be a finished product. Recently, the franchise have proved many wrong and have caused a frenzy within its' millennial audience along with some hostility to the present young-ins wanting to see this well-talked about film.

Tweets like the one above were composed all over the internet soon after talk of the Incredibles hit social media. These types of tweets meant to signify that the Incredibles was meant for an older audience, which is utterly incorrect. While this movie does attract many young adults because of the appeal of reminiscing of their childhood memories of the film, the plot, format, content and advertising for the film is intended to attract a family based audience which almost always includes young children. These types of tweets have done nothing but harm millennial reputation in society, once again, and proven that many of us are stubborn selfish individuals. Taking all of this to social media turned a positive surprise sequel into WWIII and the battle consists of 18-15 year old millennial against the youth of today.

Not only does this form false impressions of the kind of people millennials have grown up to become, it takes away from the excitement and pure happiness the movie intended to create. By expressing your anger for children and parents buying tickets to what is marketed as a family film does nothing but create needless social media banter. It creates a fight between young adults and toddlers, which is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. The Incredibles is a family film that families and children of all ages (hate to break it to you bud) can purchase tickets for, whether millennials support them watching the film or not.

Starting these meaningless stigma about children seeing movies that we may have seen in out childhood is silly and just plain mean. Many of us forget that the movies that all of us go and see today are revisions or remakes of films created long before any millennials time of birth. However, older people don't make a stink about us watching and loving some of these older more classic films. In fact, when I whip out my cassette player, record player and blue flared jeans, older people are delighted seeing that parts of their adolescence will live on in the new generations. Why couldn't millennials follow their example and encourage a younger audience to join in and experience everything it has to offer? After all, if it is such a remarkable life-changing childhood reaffirming film, why not invite others to experience the magic?

Stunts like these are a big part of the reason why millennials tend to receive a bad reputation across many boards of life. This includes the notion that we are all selfish, as seen blatantly by this war waged between young working adults and toddlers, egotistical and greedy members of society. Of course this is not true, but many do believe that the large majority of millennials embody these characteristics. The only way to stop these false accusations is to stop letting silly things anger our generation, the millennial generation. We have to begin to look at things with optimism, positivity and with a hopeful spirit so things like this can be prevented. For future notice, if a production company decides to create another Shrek, please don't say you're going to trample a four year old to see it. Thank you in advance.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
