Dear Best Friend,

You have always had my utmost respect. No matter when or where you are, you are always there for me, to love and support me. Your personality is incomparable to anyone else's. You have more spunk, loyalty and originality than most of the people I know combined. There are too few people in this world who are as brave, honest, and charismatic as you. You do your own thing because it is what you do best. That is why before you are shipped overseas for your deployment, I just want to tell you a few things.

I knew that you loved adventure. You were the one that always convinced us to go out and see things, do things, and live for the memories we make. From the beginning, you had something right because today is the youngest we will ever be, and we do not have a minute to waste. You signed up for one of the greatest adventures in our country when you enlisted in the Air Force. Now, I could not imagine you doing your own thing any other way. In your journey through the U.S. Air Force, you have endured things that most people only have nightmares about and accomplished milestones that all too many only dream about. You have a fiery spirit in you that carries you to great things.

Because of you, I appreciate people who are in the military in a new way now. There is something about when someone you would protect at all costs dedicates their life to protecting not just you, but also countless other people. It is one thing to risk your life for a person you love, but it is a whole other story to put your life on the line for people you have never met before. Enlisting in the military is about serving your country, but it is so much deeper than that. It is about serving to protect the freedom of each individual citizen of America.

With the amount of intelligence and perseverance you have, you could do anything you set your heart to. You put your all into everything you do. It is probably one of your most admirable qualities. In your journey with the Air Force, you have done nothing but thrive and excel in so many directions. Since enlisting, you have grown so much as an individual. I strive to be as determined as you and to really put my heart into my actions just like you do every single day. Not you are more than my best friend. You are my hero. I can guarantee that my life would not be so amazing and adventurous if it were not for you. Getting sent overseas to a combat zone is no simple task. I will be praying for you every day. When you come home, I will be waiting with the biggest hug in the world.

I love you so much. Stay safe and stay you,

Sun Smokin.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
