Midterms are undoubtedly a stressful time. For some classes, midterms can be just as important as finals. I've personally had so many classes where a midterm and final exam are actually weighted the same for my overall grade. Midterms week is kind of like that little voice in your ear that you try to push off until the last possible minute. Usually, this week results in last minute cramming, all-nighters, too much caffeine, and regret.

1. The weekend before

Let's be honest, not many of us even think about our midterm until the weekend before. It is often pushed into the back of our minds until the teacher reminds us the class before it happens. You feel your eyes widen and that "oh crap moment" starts to sink in. But some of us might procrastinate studying thinking we have the whole weekend ahead of us. What could go wrong?

2. The night before your first midterm

Darn it self, I told you to study this weekend. You had all the time in the world and you're leaving it everything to the last minute. Don't panic, just have four cups of coffee and you'll be okay. Oh wait, I'm not okay. Why do I do this every time?

3. The first midterm

Not only did I only get three hours of sleep after cramming, my whole body is shaking and I'm filled with uncomfortable anxiety. I'll just settle for a C+ or B- at this point...I just want to get this over with.

4. The middle of the week midterms

I'm halfway done, it's okay, it's okay. Just concentrate now, sleep later. My vision is blurry from lack of sleep, I have a constant headache, I know I need to eat healthily, but I have no time to cook, I still have obligations outside of school, and on top of that, I still have to be nice to people. I'm fine.

5. The last midterm

One more, just one more! I'm on the verge of insanity right about now. I could've studied a lot more, I'll prepare better next time. Not.

6. Treating yourself the minute after your last midterm

I've totally earned this. This is such a stressful week and I'll buy myself whatever I want today. Good job girl.

7. The day after

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
