It’s the middle of the semester, and if you’re like me, you’re swamped in homework that you’ve either left to the last minute or have been working on it so long that you’ve forgotten about other things. The lack of sleep almost feels normal and you’re used to constantly looking tired. So used to it, people have stopped telling you about the bags under your eyes. I always try to be cool and say they’re my designer eye bags, but it usually ends up backfiring.
If you’ve gotten to this point in the semester and have managed to keep your cool and not have any mental breakdowns, congratulations! But, if you’ve lost it, I know how you feel and I am almost at that point myself!
I have two semesters left in college after this fall but I know that the middle of the semester is always the hardest, and I always find myself saying these 10 things.
1. "Cs get degrees"
There is not a day that passes by that I don't say this one.
2. "I'm dropping out/I'm dropping my classes."
If I'm being honest, I say this multiple times a day.
3. "Is it winter break yet?"
Sadly, no.
4. "We have a quiz today?!"
The anthem of my college career.
5. "What pages did we have to read?"
Also the anthem of my college career.
6. "I'm hungry, but I've eaten dining hall food three times this week."
I'm a commuter and sometimes I'm on campus until 6 or 7 pm so I have no choice, but sometimes it gets old.
7. "What did you get on *insert assignment*?"
We go together or we don't go down at all.
8. "Why won't my professor email me back?"
One of my biggest pet peeves, honestly.
