After years of waiting for a final verdict, Michelle Carter has finally been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after Carter encouraged her boyfriend, Conrad Roy III, to kill himself through thousands of texts and calls in 2014.

While Carter didn't use a weapon to kill her boyfriend, she did use her words, which were equally as powerful as any weapon out there. Carter once encouraged Roy to get help for his suicidal thoughts and depression, but that didn't last long before she was helping him figure out a way to kill himself.

A lot of people say that Michelle Carter is not responsible for Conrad's death only because she didn't necessarily force him to do anything, nor did she kill him herself. What she did do, however, was insist Conrad get back into his truck after he got out because he got scared. He didn't want to die, but Michelle insisted it happen. When Conrad got out of his truck, Michelle should've done everything she could have to make sure he didn't get back in. But instead, she ordered him to get back in. She didn't do anything to save him. She didn't call his family or his friends and she didn't tell him to get out of the truck to save his own life but did the complete opposite instead. She gave him ideas on how to commit suicide and she was visibly frustrated through texts when he was pushing it off.

How is Michelle Carter not responsible? Conrad was obviously not in the best state of mind to begin with as he wanted to end his life and had a history of previous suicide attempts and depression. Michelle was almost like the voice in the back of his head and repeatedly told him, "You just need to do it." "The more you push it off, the more it will eat at you." "You're ready and prepared. All you have to do is turn the generator on and you'll be free and happy. No more pushing it off, no more waiting." "If you want it as bad as you say you do, it's time to do it today." She encouraged him to do it and get it over with.

She told him to get back into the truck filled with fumes of carbon monoxide even though she knew he was going to die.

Michelle Carter is responsible for Conrad Roy's death. She used her words to kill him.
