For those who have watched "The Office", Michael Scott is personally one the greatest characters to ever appear on the show. He is many great things but he is absolutely hilarious. After watching "The Office" for what seems like the hundredth time, I realized that all of us have a little bit of Michael Scott in us. Whether you like him or not, here are five reasons why Michael Scott is actually not only my spirit animal but yours too:

1. He does not always know what he is doing, even if he thinks that he does.

Michael knows his flaws and is not afraid to admit to them.


2. He knows the importance of self-love.

Michael Klump proves to people that everyone is beautiful no matter their size or shape.


3. He knows that at times, it is best not to care.

If Michael Scott does not care about most things he has going on, neither should you.


4. He never lowers his standards.

Amen to this.


5. He knows that there is never a wrong time to eat ice cream.

Ice cream is the best thing enjoyed at any time of the day, even if it is in the morning.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
