"How I Met Your Mother" is a beautiful show, following the longest retelling of how Ted Mosby meets the mother of his children, starting in his early twenties, and leading all the way through his mid-thirties. It is a beautifully well-written show, with many charming, reoccurring jokes throughout the seasons. All leading up to season nine... In which the mother is finally figured out. However, despite the witty humor throughout the series, this show kills my soul slowly and completely. (I still love it and watch it all the time, but the point has been made, and we are sticking with it). So let's get into it. Why does this show destroy my heart and crush my hopes and dreams, you may ask? Well, I'll tell you, but be warned. there will be spoilers ahead... And they will not be pretty.

1. She's only in like five episodes!!!

Call me old fashioned, but when I see a show title like "How I Met Your Mother" I kind of assume she's going to be involved in it a little more than five episodes after nine seasons of build up to her introduction. She is built up to so much, and yet the role itself is basically just five or 10-minute scenes in five episodes.

2. The ending?????

They had no right to kill her off like that. Absolutely no reason for it, and it was completely hated by everyone. It was such a bad decision, they had to release an alternate ending on the DVD of season nine. An ending in which she never gets sick and Robin is not involved as anything more than Aunt Robin. It was a beautiful time to be alive (Hehehe get it because, in the actual ending, she dies? Knee Slapper!!)

3. Robin

As I briefly touched on above, Robin and Ted sort of prepare to begin a relationship at the end of the series, and I am displeased. Robin had 19 chances throughout the series to choose Ted like he chose her, and every time she turned him down and broke his heart. And she wound up with Barney, but they divorced because Robin was caught up in her career and was never around, which is solidified by her missing out on many group milestones and celebrations. So why the heck is she suddenly just hanging in New York in her apartment on the night that Ted tells them this story.

4. The Blue French horn

Now, don't get me wrong. I love the idea of the blue french horn, and I totally understand the significance of the horn in the sense of Ted and Robin's relationship.... But why does this restaurant keep letting him in? He steals this horn 3 times throughout the series.... You'd think eventually they'd ban him from the establishment.

5. I want more

The series was so beautiful, and I didn't get enough. I wanted to see more of Marshall and Lily and their kids, and I wanted more ridiculous plays from Barney, and I wanted more of Ted and Traci, and more of Robin and her many dogs. I just wanted more. I get that all good things must come to an end, but I didn't want it to end, ever.

6. Barney's character decay

Leading up to Robin and Barney's wedding, Barney grew as a person. He put down his playbook and prepared to settle down with Robin... But when they divorced, Barney quickly regressed back to the player he was nine seasons ago. I understand getting back out there, but what he did wasn't rebounding, it was regressing. And resulted in him becoming a dad... Though, seeing him act like a dad at the bar was pretty cool.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
