As I was growing up I went through a lot of phases, as I'm sure most children do. I was an emo for a long time followed by the teenie-bopper phase where I was obsessed with Justin Bieber and One Direction. Then I went through a hippie phase and now I feel more mainstream, but I hold onto the roots from the other phases I went through. I feel like I wasn't the only one who went through something like this, which is why I'm writing this to the multifaceted girls.

This is to the girls who grew up trying to fit into these boxes of personalities that made them feel limited. The girls who hid away pieces of themselves to try and fit in with these roles they thought were cool. The girls who look punk rock on the outside, but are secretly listening to One Direction through their headphones. The girls who are meditating to screamo music. To every girl out there who feels she is being shoved into a box: it's okay. It's okay for you to have a hand dipped in all of these boxes.

At the end of the day, you don't need to fit into one box. Your soul is so much wider and greater than a singular box. Your outer self is only an expression of how you're feeling, and there is never any reason for you to have to be the same, generic version of yourself every day of your life. Change, growth, and exploration is a wonderful thing, and a necessity so your soul doesn't feel limited to one personality box.

So next time you want to do something, but feel like it doesn't hold up to your reputation, go for it anyway. Your friends won't laugh at you, and if they do, then you don't need them in your life. You have so many sides to you and things that you like, so express that. Stop holding in the things you love because you think it's not acceptable to those around you, or your reputation. So what if people don't like it? You are the only thing that matters in your world, so please yourself and show the world all the facets of you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
