A Message To My High School Class

Once a Townie, always a Townie.

I feel like I gradated high school forever ago, when in reality it was only just over three years ago. I know a lot can change in a year, never mind three. From what I can see, everyone in my class is doing well and I want to share a little message with them. Whether or not we were friends, talked, or if we even knew each other, I want you guys to know I'm silently supporting you all.

While some of us went off to college and others went straight into working, I want you to know I'm proud of you for taking that next step. Whether you went to a two year or four year college, or technically school, that's great. Because honestly school isn't easy, and it may take longer for some to graduate then others but don't ever give up because I'm counting on seeing you walk across that stage. Also, a big congratulations to the people that graduated early! I wish you nothing but the best in your careers. If you went straight into working, I'm glad that you found a job right out of high school, it isn't as easy as it may seem. Keep on working hard and great things will happen for you.

If you made the incredibly tough decision to join the military, navy, air force, or marines, I'm proud of you. Thank you for all of your hard work, for defending our country, and for fighting for our rights. It doesn't go unappreciated or unnoticed. You guys are truly an inspiration to so many people across the entire country.

Yet, what also doesn't go unnoticed is all the amazing parents that people in my high school class have become. It's crazy to think that people I've known since we were five are parents now...but we aren't five anymore, were real adults....like real real adults LOL. But anyway much like most things in life, babies aren't easy at all. I can happily say that so many people in my graduating class have happy and healthy babies and they wouldn't be that way if my peers weren't doing everything possible for them. I want nothing but the best for you and your little families.

Although I may stay silent, I do keep up with what many people in my class are doing for fun as well. I watch all of your YouTube videos and vlogs, I follow your art pages, I follow your photography pages, I read the articles that you guys write, and so much more. Whether it's sports or band, keep doing what you're doing because I take notice and I support you all 110%. It warms my heart knowing you all are doing what you love, because in the end, isn't that what life is all about?

Don't ever give up on your dreams, because in however many years, I want to hear all about them at our class reunion. If you ever feel like no one is proud of you or is noticing how much you do and how hard you work, just remember that I am and I always will be. You all are doing amazing things and wherever life may take us, we will always be the East Providence High School Class of 2014.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
