Of all religious faiths, Christians appear to be attacked the most in the U.S. Some might say that this is due to widespread division among Christian conservatives and secular liberals. Although, as logic would have it, 83% of Americans identify themselves with the Christian faith. This means that the vast majority of citizens are in fact Christians, leaving only 17% of the U.S. population as a combination of followers of minority religions and the non-religious. With this, one could easily reason that such backlash simply comes with being the leading national religion rather than acting as yet another factor in our distinct political divide.

However, politics certainly have managed to slither their way into Christian practices such as the celebration of Christmas. With the support of members of the far left, politicians, employers, and their establishments have begun to sugar coat their discrimination by hiding behind the politically correct. Gone are the days when retail, food industry, and customer service workers could freely wish someone a merry Christmas without fear of losing their job. No longer do public schools hang Christmas decorations in their classrooms and throughout their halls.

To be clear, this would be just as personally upsetting if society decided to discriminate against another system of faith such as Judaism. Once again, the great resistance we see is caused by the number of American Christians. Rather than declare a war on Christmas, why not allow religious workers to wish customers whatever they practice? As citizens preserving their rights promised in the First Amendment, it is the customers' duty to accept someone else's beliefs with grace and open-mindedness. While "happy holidays" remains as neutral and meaningless as the usual, "have a nice day," banning workers from sharing their own belief continues to uphold a certain acceptable standard of modern religious persecution.

As for people who are offended by being wished a "Merry Christmas", it is to be understood that those doing so are simply embracing their beliefs and trying to spread a warm cheer with others who may share those beliefs as well. It is never done so with the intentions of offending another. It is time to grow a backbone and accept our differences as we realize that another's beliefs is not an attack on our own.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
