Wake up. Eat breakfast. Go to class. Eat lunch. Go to practice. Eat dinner. Finish homework. Then, time to go to sleep. That's a normal day for me and many others. But there's one thing missing that I didn't include in my normal daily schedule. It's something that's is more important than any of the above: my battle with mental health.
Stress, depression, and anxiety all come to us daily. It's putting that smile on for somebody to act like that there's nothing wrong with you personally or laughing at something with your friends just to camouflage your inner self. Having some type of stress, depression, or anxiety isn't just a bad or overwhelming thing, but it's one thing that people never say. And that word is curable.
We are all too scared to open up our feelings to somebody. Our generation is a world full of judgement. This isn't a battle that you can fight alone, even if you think you can. Surrounding yourself with your family and friends, finding a hobby, or reading a book can all help your mind relax and get away from the tension in your head. But when it builds up and you think it's becoming too overwhelming, don't be afraid to ask for help. Help is everywhere.
Life is so precious. We always think we can take on every battle on our own, but sometimes we can't. If you think a friend or colleague is acting strange, don't be afraid to ask what's going on. Mental health isn't a phenomenon; it's everyday life. It's something we can all help contribute to.
