Dear future Big,

I want you to know I'm so incredibly excited to meet you soon, and I hope you're just as excited to meet me. The days leading up to this have been nerve-wracking and stressful, but the day is finally here. I want you to know I already appreciate you and hope we have can create a great bond that will never die.

They say your big doesn't have to be your best friend, but I want you to know I will probably always refer to you as one of my best friends. We were put together for a reason and I'm so excited to help each other through life!

I want you to know I will probably cry, like a bad ugly cry. Whether we are close already or not, or maybe we've barely spoken, I'm beyond excited to meet you. This is not abnormal for me, so be prepared for a future of ugly crying. That's what you get when you get me as a Little! I have many quirks, some you may not be a fan of, but I hope we can look past those. I'm a picky eater, I love singing way too much, and I love being a part of our sorority. I love to create relationships with everyone and I probably talk way too much, so hopefully, you still love me!

I want to take on a big role within our sorority, and I hope you are there to guide me every step of the way. I am still learning everything about not only our sorority, but college itself, and I'll probably need your guidance until we're both graduated and beyond.

Eventually, we may fight, but I never want to hate each other. I will try my best to keep the connection and communication between us strong, but I know there will be tough moments. We will probably go through some of the toughest moments together, just know I'll always be there for you.

I'm so excited to have you through this journey and I can't wait to meet you! See you soon, Big!

Love, your Little.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
