With the help of video games, TV streaming, and family bonding, the time I have available at home is one I'm working on getting the most out of.

Animal Crossing

Giphy

I bought a Nintendo Switch for my younger sister a few years ago, and just when I thought Super Smash Bros. was going to be the best thing I'd play on it, this gem of a game had to drop. The "Animal Crossing: New Horizon" game has completely blasted off in popularity during this home locked state of daily operations, and living vicariously through your islander is nearly more exciting than life itself.

"The Walking Dead"

Giphy

After a very long period of having stepped away from the zombie series, now was the perfect time to get back into it and devote hours out of the day to catching up with where it is now. I still have some watching to do, since I'm on season 9, but it is so great I wish everyone was into this show!

Yard work

Giphy

Within our busy lives, my household can sometimes let the yard work slip week to week. Well, now that we don't have much else to do, I find ways to clean up our backyard every day, whether that means weed pulling, lawn mowing, or weed eating. So long as this quarantine is ongoing this household is determined to have a clean yard throughout and after the pandemic.

Board games

Giphy

During this quarantine entertainment options are a bit scarce. If you can relate then what you may benefit from is a family game night! I'm thankful because my family endorses game nights and we play Scattegories, Scrabble, or another game whenever we need the quick boost to our day or are just in the mood for fun.

Stretching

Giphy

While it is so easy to sit on our butts all day without moving around, stretching and staying active inside the house is the key to not becoming potatoes during everyone's time at home. I like to stretch in the middle of the day out in the backyard so I can feel the sun and get some fresh air without leaving my home.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
